Porridge is one of my favourite breakfasts, especially when I’m making it at home instead of in the microwave at work. This is a fool proof recipe for perfect porridge every time.
1/2 cup oats
1/2 non-dairy milk
1/2 cold water
1 tablespoon of ground almonds
I think it’s really important to not cheat and make the porridge in a saucepan, it might be more washing up but it’s worth it to get the porridge right.
Put all of your ingredients in a small saucepan and put it on a low heat, stir constantly and don’t let it out of your sight! The porridge only takes a few minutes to get it to the right consistency, I like my porridge quite runny but if you’re one of those who likes that thick and sticky porridge, just keep it on the hob for a little longer.
Serving suggestion: chopped strawberries and agave nectar
The ground almonds make the porridge a little sweeter than usual and works so well when you top it with strawberries.
