Yup, you read that title right… I’ve made a Christmassy porridge and it is good. The lovely humans over at The Primal Pantry got in touch to ask me if I’d like to create a porridge with some of their products so naturally I jumped at the chance. I’m already a fan of the bars and I reviewed them earlier this year, they are all divine but I’d never thought to put them into porridge!
I eat porridge all of the time, it’s a super easy breakfast to prep for work, I just pile my oats in a box with raisins, fire some water in, get it in the microwave and too with peanut butter… Ok that sounds like a lot but it’s easy and filling. But if I’m eating some porridge at home, I like to do it properly, with a saucepan and milk.
What you need
- 1/2 cup of porridge oats
- 1/2 cup of almond milk
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Serves one
Toppings
- 1 cocoa orange protein bar
- Sunflower seeds
- Ground flaxseed
- Peanut butter or Biscoff
Put your porridge ingredients in a saucepan, heat gently and stir constantly or you can put in the the microwave if that’s your jam. Chop up your cocoa orange protein bar into smaller than bitesized pieces ready to top your breakfast with orangy joy!
