SMOOTHIE: Vitamin boost, green smoothie

I love smoothies. Have you noticed? I barely mention it right? What about green smoothies? Yeh I ADORE them too. Smoothies are just so handy, I make one when I need a snack or just before I go to bed so that I can stick it in the fridge and grab it first this for breakfast. My favourite two things about smoothies are:

  1. Speedy snack that’s right, it takes roughly 5 minutes to transform a pile of fruit and veg into a healthy smoothie, what more could you ask for?
  2. Vitamins oh hell yeh, if you’re putting vegetables into your smoothie along with some fruit, possibly some fruit juice, then you’re  going to get a good hit of vitamins, usually a ton of vitamin c.

Look at that colour


1 cup almond milk
1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup spinach
1/2 cup frozen mango
1 green apple
1/2 cup cucumber

Blend all of that deliciousness and jar up for the morning or grab your metal spoon and enjoy immediately.

Reasons to drink it

Do you really need me to convince you to drink something that looks so damn good? You do? OK FINE.

179% vitamin C
52% calcium
10% iron

You can’t argue with those stats, this is the perfect way to start your day, you’ve already had your whole quota of vitamin c, over three quarter of your vitamin a AND half of your daily calcium. All of that without one single animal product – it’s easy when you know how.
