I’ve not been very good at updating the fitness diaries because, if I’m honest there’s nothing interesting about doing the same classes each week. Now don’t get me wrong, I love doing BODYPUMP, BODYATTACK and weight training but there’s just not much that I can blog about on that front. A couple of Sunday’s ago I figured that I should do some cardio but cardio at the gym is totally boring so I thought I’d give SH’BAM a try. I’d heard mixed reviews about SH’BAM some people love it, others think it’s a lame dance class where people don’t really work hard. But I was bored so I thought, whats the worst that could happen.
Here’s the definition from Les Mills:
A fun-loving, insanely addictive dance workout. SH’BAM™ is an ego-free zone – no dance experience required. All you need is a playful attitude and a cheeky smile so forget being a wallflower – even if you walk in thinking you can’t, you’ll walk out knowing you can!
Along I went one Sunday lunch time, I had no idea what to expect really, I stood at the back with the fear. What am I doing? What if it is terrible? What if I want to leave after 5 minutes. Now my gym isn’t full of posers who make you feel bad for being there so there really is no reason for being nervous, thankfully, as soon as the music started all of the nerves melted away.
I LOVE SH’BAM!
Now SH’BAM certainly isn’t the hardest class that I do (I’m looking at you BODYATTACK) but it is the most fun, 45 minutes of joy and hilarity. But it is basically a dance class that appeals to my 10 year old inner dancer. I grew up doing ballet but I love any excuse to dance around and preferably in a group, this is why SH’BAM is so much fun.
I FEEL LIKE I’M PART OF A DANCE TROUPE.
3 weeks in and I no longer feel like I’m letting the dance troupe down.
